Software architect in machine construction (all genders)

Your tasks will include the creation of customer-specific software architectures and concepts for automation systems, as well as the design of varied PLC projects in machine and plant engineering.

Your assignments

Development of customer-specific software architectures and concepts for automation systems, typically consisting of PLC, robotics and industrial image processing as well as initial developments in special machine construction (primarily medical and pharmaceutical technology)

Implementation of customer-specific SW systems in the automation environment

Conception and implementation of project-specific SW components with internal libraries

Conception of varied PLC projects in machine and plant construction

Application and further development of the internal tool stack (typically: Visual Studio, DVCS/Mercurial, ticket system, planning tools, modeling tools)

Integration of in-house developments and standard products into the process control level of customer systems (such as SCADA, MES or ERP)

We look forward to the following

University Degree

Technical or university degree in computer science, electrical engineering, automation technology or mechatronics

Professional Experience

Several years of practical experience in the field of software architecture, programming experience on Windows systems (preferably: High-level language development or PLC programming in an industrial automation environment)

High Degree of Familiarization

Good understanding of IT infrastructure aspects: Operation / dimensioning of databases, networks and virtualization 

Technical Writing

Documentation of concepts and designs, experience with documentation in regulated domains desirable (preferably: GxP)

Systemic Thinking

Abstraction of sub-problems, decomposition into sub-aspects, focus on interfaces 

Focus on Customers and Performance

External cooperation with customers, analysis of customer-specific problems, requirements management
